In the past 40 years aquaculture in New Zealand has grown from small beginnings to a significant primary industry, sustainably producing the world’s best seafood – Greenshell Mussels, King Salmon and Pacific Oysters.
In 2016 New Zealand’s aquaculture sector generated over $500 million in revenue, employed over 3000 Kiwis and has a target goal of reaching $1 billion in sales by 2025.
