In a Marketing role you will plan and deliver marketing initiatives that engage customers, promote products, support events, and strengthen the brand.

This role combines creativity, strategic thinking, and practical delivery across digital and traditional marketing channels.

What you’ll do

The key tasks for a marketing role are:

  • Develop, plan, and implement marketing campaigns that promote products, services, and the organisation’s brand.

  • Manage digital channels, including websites, social media platforms, and other online content, ensuring messaging is consistent and engaging.

  • Support product launches, trade shows, and industry events by coordinating logistics, promotional materials, and communications.

  • Conduct market research and analyse customer insights to inform marketing strategies and report on campaign effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment of marketing activities with business objectives.

Bachelor’s degree in:

  • Marketing, Communications, Business, or Commerce

Alternative pathways include:

  • Diploma in Marketing, Digital Communications, or Business (NZQA Level 5–6)

  • On-the-job progression from communications, events, or content management roles

Valued skills in aquaculture:

  • Understanding of the seafood or primary production sector

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements around food marketing and labeling

  • Experience with digital marketing, social media management, and analytics tools
