Hatchery Manager
Salary: $90,000 - $130,000
As Hatchery Manager, you will lead all aspects of hatchery operations to ensure consistent spat production, high-quality standards, and best-practice biosecurity.
You will work closely with farm and science teams to align hatchery performance with wider operational and research objectives.
What you’ll do
Oversee daily hatchery operations including larvae production, broodstock management, and environmental controls
Implement and maintain robust biosecurity and quality control systems
Lead, train, and mentor a team of hatchery technicians
Schedule and coordinate preventative maintenance and system upgrades
Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental regulations, and export hygiene requirements
Monitor performance against production targets and report on outcomes
What we’re looking for
A relevant tertiary degree (e.g. aquaculture, marine science, or a related field)
1–3 years’ experience as a Hatchery Technician or in a similar role
Leadership capability with the confidence to guide and develop a team
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
A commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
