Salmon Farm Technician
Salary: $54,000 - $85,000
A Salmon Farming Technician plays a hands-on role in raising healthy salmon and producing high-quality food in a safe and sustainable way.
You’ll be involved in the day-to-day care of salmon — feeding fish, monitoring their health and behaviour, and helping maintain the equipment and environment that supports their growth.
Depending on the location of salmon farms, you will be provided onsite accommodation during shifts whilst you will work 7 days on, 7 days off shift rotation.
This role suits people who enjoy practical work, teamwork, problem-solving, and being outdoors.
What you’ll do
Feeding and monitoring salmon to support healthy growth
Observing fish behaviour and reporting any health or environmental changes
Maintaining nets, pens, vessels, and feeding equipment
Assisting with grading, harvesting, and stock movements
Recording data and supporting compliance and biosecurity processes
Following strong health and safety practices at all times
