Salary: $55,000 - $160,000
HR roles in aquaculture range from administrative support to strategic leadership. The work involves recruitment, training, compliance, and supporting diverse workforces across farms, hatcheries, and processing facilities.
What you’ll do
Support end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes for farm, hatchery, and processing teams.
Coordinate training, development, and competency programmes to support skill growth and industry compliance.
Maintain accurate HR records, employee files, and HRIS data.
Assist with payroll inputs, employment agreements, and HR documentation.
Provide guidance on policies, performance, conduct, and employment relations matters.
Promote health, safety, wellbeing, and positive workplace culture across all sites.
Support workforce planning, rostering, and seasonal staffing needs.
Ensure HR practices comply with employment law, industry standards, and company policies.
Contribute to HR projects and process improvements that strengthen people capability and engagement.
What we’re looking for
Desirable
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business, Organisational Psychology, or related field.
Alternative pathways:
Diploma in HR Management (NZQA Level 5–6).
On-the-job progression from administration or payroll roles.
Specialist training in health & safety, employment law, or mediation
Skills valued in aquaculture:
Understanding of seasonal/shift-based workforces.
Cultural competency (working with Māori, Pasifika, migrant communities).
Strong communication and mediation skills
